Entrepreneurship,
Media, Ministry & Trade

IN MARIETTA, SC

Our mission is to create experiences that help students understand who they are while exposing them to multiple experiences that broaden their skills and equip them for life. We give students a foundation and broad perspective in culinary, entrepreneurship, media or trade while equipping them with the soft skills needed for any vocation in life.

Why Market Leadership?

OneLife’s mission is to develop and launch servant leaders who live out their faith in every area of life. As we looked at the desires of our current and past students, many have chosen to go directly into the workforce after OneLife. When we looked into this even further, we saw that our society is in great need of more Christ-followers as layman. This was even more evident throughout the pandemic as there are thousands of small businesses and restaurants struggling for workers. This is why we have decided to offer a 2nd year program focused on Leadership in the work place.

Ephesians 4 : 11-13 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

What Will Students Experience?

Spiritual Formation and Life Skills:

Our Four Main Concentrations:

Ministry

.

Deepen your leadership skills and dive deeper into what vocational ministry could look like for you.

Entrepre neurship

Launching a business is easy on paper but challenging in reality. Spending 9 months in a safe business environment learning from godly entrepreneurs who have experienced the highs and lows of starting a business is an invaluable asset in teaching you what pitfalls to avoid, practices to embrace, and character to pursue for your future!

  • Planning – understanding the steps needed to take an idea to market.

  • Sales/Marketing – generating the right leads to the right clients.

  • Problem Solving – an idea is as good as the work you invest into the strategy.

  • Fun! Together is better. Build lifelong friendships focused on Christ while developing best practices. What a year!

Media

Our goal is to develop future business leaders of faith for the marketplace. Technology is not slowing down but speeding up. So many opportunities exist for individuals who have media skill and capacity. The secret of the learning process is found in the compression of all of these ongoing experiences: rubbing shoulders with industry leaders, creating a network, advice from Cristian business owners, traveling to shoot videos at OneLife sites and receiving regular feedback from OneLife staff. You will spend your year learning from leaders who are concerned with both your overall life direction and media skill growth. Media mentors will coach you through key aspects of a media development process. You will learn how to develop social media platforms to fit a brand and be responsible for regular updates.

Topics covered:

  • Capture. Learning how to capture footage in the field that’s going to be valuable. Learning what it takes to take professional grade shots.
  • Post editing. Learning how to take raw footage and make it phenomenal. Editing is a critical and essential to create a business for video/film. Editing is where you learn to be a professional.
  • Prospecting. Learning how to find clients thru your website, networking, cold calling/emailing, etc. Many who start successful media businesses learn early to create a recognized name by giving away work that bears fruit long-term. This is learning how to do something for free to create value for yourself in the future. It’s answering the question, “How do I build a name for my company when objectively we have no value in the media arena?”
  • How to run a business. Essential business plan realities are learning about creating a sales funnel, bookkeeping, filing taxes, writing  contracts, creating incentives to residual business, and managing time.

Trade

Our goal is to introduce you to many different trades. No matter what happens with our world or the economy, trades like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, repair, and construction will not be going away. Even if you own a home or coffee shop, you will have repair and update issues. Understanding all the moving parts of this industry allows you not only to fix things yourself but know how to protect yourself if you do hire a professional. Hands-on learning will give the confidence and understanding for all kinds of projects. We will have dozens of professional people teach you the skills you need for life. This job market is exploding, and we lay the foundation to make you marketable for lots of career paths.

Topics covered:

  • Furniture craftsmanship – build your own table or bookshelf in our partner woodshop
  • HVAC training.
  • Electrical
  • Light repair.
  • Tannery, how to make a leather belt and binder
  • Outdoor opportunities. Landscape architecture and using nature as your resource
