Life at OneLife at Sakanaga has been full of learning, growth, and a healthy dose of fun. Our students have been stretching their minds and hearts as they dig into deep conversations in the classroom and engage in activities that build teamwork and resilience.
Breakfast Crew kicked things off on a high note—especially when they surprised everyone with Capri Suns at breakfast! From there, the class dove into meaningful discussions about faith and life. Questions like “Why does a good and all-powerful God allow suffering?” challenged everyone to think deeply. Under William’s guidance, students explored Scripture, shared perspectives, and discovered a variety of thoughtful answers together.
Afternoons were packed with activities like Triads, FitCo (Fitness Committee), and WoCo (Worship Committee). During FitCo, students from both the first-year and OLX programs joined together for an epic game of capture the flag that stretched across the campus. Both teams showed determination, strategy, and a lot of energy—but one team ultimately secured victory after a daring flag grab from a heavily guarded porch!
In class, the focus was on integrating a biblical worldview. Through Scripture and books like Mere Christianity, students wrestled with big questions: Where did we come from? What’s our problem? What’s the solution? What’s our ultimate end? These conversations led to some incredible “aha” moments and deeper understanding of Truth, Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration.
A major highlight came with the reveal of Tribe Teams—blue, green, and red—who will compete throughout the year in a series of challenges and events that build unity, leadership, and friendly competition.
Triads also began, creating a space for smaller groups to focus on personal growth—mentally, spiritually, and physically. These conversations are already helping students reflect on who they’re becoming and how they can keep growing.
While the days have been full and sometimes long, the commitment and perseverance shown by the Sakanaga class is inspiring. They’ve embraced every challenge, proving that OneLife students are here not just for adventure and community, but for transformation and growth in faith and discipline.
