Life at OneLife at Buffalo has been full of learning, growth, and laughter! Recently, we wrapped up teach-back week, where we presented in pairs on what we learned from class and from our trip out west. Every group did an incredible job collaborating, sharing insights, and connecting what we’ve learned to our personal experiences.
We also welcomed our new chef, who jumped right into creating amazing meals for everyone—definitely a highlight of the week! That weekend brought the first opportunity for students to spend time off campus. Some visited family, others reconnected with friends, and a few stayed nearby to rest and recharge. Coming back to the convent afterward was bittersweet, but it felt good to be together again as a community.
After teach-backs, we dove into a new class on Spiritual Formation & Discipleship, taught by our Site Director, Michael Scott Davis. It was a powerful time of exploring Scripture, learning about the Holy Spirit and understanding how He shapes our personal walk with the Lord. The discipleship conversations were especially meaningful and gave everyone practical tools for growing in faith and community.
Of course, learning at OneLife isn’t just in the classroom! Every week, our Fitness Committee plans workouts to keep everyone active and prepare for the trek in the spring. From group jogs and music-led walks to leg and core workouts, these sessions challenge and unite the group (and leave us feeling sore—but strong!).
Outside of class and workouts, we have been busy serving in our ministries at Sheridan Parkside Life Center and Every Child, as well as making memories together during downtime. From creating a mini music video to hanging out in each other’s rooms or testing out a virtual reality headset, there’s never a dull moment around here.
The community continues to grow closer each week—whether through shared meals, meaningful class discussions, or spontaneous laughter late at night. It’s been such a gift to see how God is moving in and through our group.
Until next time, this is the OneLife at Buffalo girls signing off!
